About
The HyeWay originally The Road (Ճանապարհ) project is an online publication outlet welcoming short essays written in accessible to general reader language and contributed by Armenian scholars from Armenia and from the diaspora. Ranging from 1000 to 2000 words, the essays will most often be summaries of contributors’ academic research in their field.
Therefore, Ճանապարհ’s thematic coverage will be shaped by its contributors’ academic specializations, over time covering a growing range of topics. While there is room for all academic fields to be represented, it is important to note that the platform is NOT to be used for any type of political advocacy or debate.
The platform’s purpose is strictly to serve as a conduit between the impressive research talent of the Armenian scholars and public in Armenia, diaspora, and internationally. HyeWay’s ambitious aim is to become a media outlet that focuses on distilling scholarly contributions in an accessible way informing the public and promoting scholars’ research.
As such, the platform aims to play a critical dual role: 1) in introducing scholars’ work into the world, informing public debate and socio-economic policy decisions; and 2) promoting Armenian scholars’ work across the world.
Ճանապարհ embodies the concept of search, movement, discovery, and continuous growth.
All submissions are subject to review by the editorial board. The board reserves the right to reject a publication (or retract) without providing detailed explanation, as is the practice in the similar international media. All essay proposals must be in English and be proofread and follow proper style and grammar prior to submission.
